Behavioral characteristics of fishes in response to sound stimuli

(in English) The results of experimental study on the behavioral characteristics of fish when given sound stimuli are presented. Swept sine signal was given as a sound stimulus to pagrus major, scomber japonicus, and seriola quinqueradiata. As a result, it was found that pagrus major stayed near the underwater speaker in response to the swept sine signal. It was also found that scomber japonicus showed avoidance behavior by abruptly changing direction in response to swept sine signal. Furthermore, seriola quinqueradiata showed a decrease in swimming speed when given swept sine signal.
