[Poster Presentation] Effect of building density on outdoor radio propagation estimation using ray tracing

(in English) In a near future, automated driving will be realized, in which vehicles will be in constant communication with communication infrastructure and traffic control centers. As a means of communication, the 5th generation mobile communication system (5G) and ITS communication systems are expected to be used. The use of 900 MHz is being considered for ITS communications. However, the service area of road-to-vehicle and inter-vehicle communications in urban areas is greatly affected by the structure of urban areas. In this report, we estimate the reception strength using a ray trace simulation with structural data of suburban and urban areas in order to study a communication area expansion method that takes into account the actual urban structure. The estimation accuracy was compared between suburban and urban areas using actual measured data, and the relationship with building density was investigated.
