In this report, the bowtie array antenna with parasitic elements which realized wideband unidirectional radiation was presented. Rader and imaging technologies need wideband antennas which can make array closely. Vivaldi antennas fulfill those conditions, but their array antenna structures become thick since they are long to the main‐lobe direction. Being solved this problem, bowtie antennas were arranged with parasitic elements. Although bowtie antennas were thought to be difficult for making array closely in general, the presented arrangement succeeded composing the thin array whose performances were as same as those of Vivaldi array antennas. The proposed array antenna achieved −10 dB or less isolations between 4.8 GHz and 10.25 GHz, and unidirectional radiation up to 9 GHz even if the distance between each element was set as close as that of Vivaldi array antennas. |
