[Poster Presentation] Development of 28GHz-driven wide-angle reflective array for expansion of 5G communication area

(in English) Currently, the demands for 5th generation mobile communication systems (5G) is increasing for the automated driving and IoT systems. Arbitral control of reflection direction of a reflectarray antenna for the 5G mobile communication system is a key technology to amplify the system coverages. In this study, we examined the effect of the rotation angle of the reflected wave acquired by the reflectarray antenna on the directivity using the finite element method. Simulation results showed that changing the reflection tilt angle up to 75° reduces the radar cross section (RCS) by only a few dBsm. It was also found that the grating can be greatly reduced by setting the rotation angle to a specific value. Furthermore, the maximum scanning angle of ± 60° was obtained at a tile angle of ± 60°.
