Two-Wire Spiral Antenna Characteristics on Mortar Cavity

(in English) The spiral antenna is the strong candidate for the wideband communications system and the radio wave monitoring system using circular polarization. In order to apply the spiral antennas, it must be modified to have unidirectionality by using the cavity. This time, we have selected the mortar cavity, which was known to realize the wideband unidirectional antenna, and tried to optimize its configuration. Specifically, we defined the cross section of the cavity as the functional curve and optimized it by simulation. As a result, it was clear that the mortar cavity, which had the concave curve surface, realized the wider-band unidirectionality. Finally, we measured the trial antenna and confirmed its wider-band characteristic.
