A Study on Small Area HMAC-SHA256 Circuit suitable for CMOS Image Sensor

(in English) In order to realize data integrity and authentication for the edge imaging devices and to prevent the image information from tampering, a message authentication code (MAC) circuit for a CMOS image sensor (CIS) with poor logic processing capability has been proposed. However, since SHA256 hash function “extend the message schedule” an input data before compression, three parallel SHA256 circuits are required to process the stream data output from the CIS, resulting to large area occupation. In this paper, we propose a SHA256-MAC generation circuit in which randomly selected pixels are coded for message authentication for small-area occupation and high-security.
