Improvement of Transmission Linearity by Post-Reception Nonlinear Compensator
Yasushi Yamao (UEC) MW2022-120
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) High-accuracy wideband signal transmission is essential for 5G and 6G wireless communication systems. Nonlinearity is a serious issue for the goal, because it deteriorates the quality of signal and reduces system capacity. The role of nonlinear compensation in mobile communication systems has been the reduction of adjacent channel leakage power. Although the ACLR regulation in mm-wave bands is relaxed in 5G systems, more precise signal transmission is required for introducing highly complex modulation schemes and advanced multiplexing techniques such as 1024 QAM and NOMA, in order to enhance system throughput with high spectrum efficiency. This emphasizes importance of linearity management in TRx of 5G and Beyond. Reflecting such trends, this paper reconsiders the role of nonlinear compensation techniques and discusses the effectiveness of post-reception nonlinear compensation (PRC).
