A chaotic search method with stochastic solution transitions for electric vehicle routing problem with time windows

(in English) Rapid increase of delivery goods and shortage of drivers causes the construction of efficient delivery routes that minimize vehicle usage and their total distance in the transportation companies. Furthermore, using electric vehicles that reduce ${rm CO}_2$ emissions enables us to achieve carbon neutrality and SDGs society. Recent studies on solving vehicle routing problems used electric vehicles. In this study, we proposed a chaotic search method with stochastic solution transitions, which shows higher searching performance than conventional chaotic search, for solving the electric vehicle routing problem with time windows and partial recharging in collective customer placement instances. From numerical experiments, we confirmed that the chaotic search method with stochastic solution transitions strategy is more effective in reducing the number of vehicles than the chaotic search method.
