[Poster Presentation] Application of Sequential minimal Optimization Methods to UCCSD ansatz

(in English) Variational quantum eigensolver (VQE) is expected to be applied to quantum chemical calculations.
This algorithm uses parametrized quantum circuits whose parameters are optimized to minimize energy expectation values of output states.
Efficient parameter optimization techniques is thus a crucial component of VQE.
Among many proposal for VQE-specialized optimizer, a sequential minimal optimization method proposed by Nakanishi textit{et al.} [Phys. Rev. Research, textbf{2}, 043158 (2020)] has been found to provide faster convergence and be more robust against statistical errors compared to existing optimization methods.
In this study, we propose to apply the sequential minimal optimization method to unitary coupled cluster ansatz, which is a popular and effective ansatz for quantum chemistry problem.
We find by numerical simulations that the performance of the proposed method is better than conventional optimizer such as Adam and stochastic gradient descent methods in terms of the number of quantum circuit executions.
