In today's networks, single path communication is as usual.
However, for transmitting large amounts of data, single path may not provide enough bandwidth.
Multipath routing has potential to provide wider bandwidth than single path.
Especially in enterprises and universities, it is desirable for users to be able to select appropriate routes, including multipath routing, according to the characteristics of the data to be sent and received.
Users can select routes proactively by using SRv6.
However, using multipath requires an implementation of packet scheduling and allocation, which imposes a large workload.
In this study, we propose a method combining SRv6 with MPTCP, a multipath routing method, to enable network users to select routes that satisfy their own requirements freely and to use multipath routing more easily and show the usefulness of this method. |
