[Poster Presentation] Effect of an aneurysm on the internal carotid artery on pressure wave propagation

(in English) The purpose of this study is to develop a safe and simple method for evaluating cerebral aneurysms. For this reason, we focused on carotid artery waves, which are easy to measure. We have evaluated aneurysms in the common carotid artery using artificial simulated vascular tubes. However, in clinical practice, aneurysms often occur on the internal carotid artery. In this report, we examined the effect of an aneurysm on pressure wave propagation in the internal carotid artery of the artificial vessel model. We also measured pressure waves at the position of the common carotid artery, and observed reflections from aneurysms in the internal carotid artery. In addition, we confirmed that the reflection varied depending on the inner diameter of the aneurysm and its location.
