Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In the present study, we conducted an online experiment to investigate the relationship between parameters affect the subjective feeling of animacy and discomfort of visual stimuli. In the experiment, we created the visual stimuli that was sinewave shape consisted of multiple dots and moved like snake and manipulated three parameters of the experimental stimuli, namely, dot density, length of the wave, and wavelength. In the online experiment, we asked participants to perform a subjective evaluation task of animacy and discomfort. The results showed that decreasing the dot density decreased the impression of animacy and discomfort, increasing the length of the wave increased animacy and discomfort, and increasing the wavelength increased animacy.
