Various sensors using radio waves are widely used to realize automatic driving and advanced traffic control systems for automobiles, including millimeter-wave radar. In this study, we investigate a design method for electromagnetic wave absorbers using metamaterials to prevent the generation of unwanted electromagnetic waves generated by millimeter-wave radar. In particular, the design method of electromagnetic wave absorber using metamaterials composed on multilayer substrates is discussed in order to broaden the absorption bandwidth. The design models will be fabricated, and their characteristics will be evaluated by comparing the results of analysis using the FDTD method and transmission line theory. |
