Estimation of relative permittivity distribution in concrete using FDTD method and ensemble Kalman filter

(in English) In order to estimate the heterogeneous permittivity distribution inside concrete, an ensemble Kalman filter is applied to the finite time domain differencing (FDTD) method. Then, the applicability of the proposed method is examined through numerical experiments using a simple concrete model. Specifically, a simulation of a radar test is performed on a concrete model consisting of mortar and aggregate phases, and data assimilation experiments are conducted using simulated observation data while varying the number of aggregates and observation points. The results show that even though there is only one observation point, the relative permittivity of multiple aggregates inside the concrete can be estimated well by considering the radar movement.
