In this report, we propose a compact and low profile antenna with controllable directivity by combining a Fabry-Perot resonator antenna, which is compact and capable of generating quasi-plane waves, and the Transmitarray with a unit cell whose transmission phase can be controlled from 0 to 2π rad. . By using a Fabry-Perot resonator antenna as the excitation source and irradiating quasi-planar waves to the Transmitarray, the influence of phase change due to the difference of line lengths is reduced and the complexity of directivity shaping is reduced. The proposed structure achieves a beam tilt of 30° in the vertical plane, and good characteristics are obtained both in the electromagnetic field analysis and in the measurement results. |
