Wide temperature range distribution measurement by simultaneous multi-point measurement method in BOCDR

(in English) The Brillouin optical correlation-domain reflectometry (BOCDR) method enable us to measure temperature and strain distributions with high spatial resolution over long distances along the optical fiber. In this study, we performed the distributed temperature sensing using the simultaneous multi-point measurement method, which can simultaneously obtain the temperature and strain at multiple locations, and detected a low-temperature region of $-196^circ$C and a high-temperature one of 200$^circ$C. We also demonstated the simultaneous 3-point monitoring of the high-temperature, room-temperature, and low-temperature regions. Our method is expected to enhance the effectivity for applications such as anomaly detection due to the faster distribution measurement and simultaneous monitoring at multiple locations in addition to the high spatial resolution, long-distance measurement range and random accessibility of the BOCDR.
