Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We investigated whether the effect of the visual stimulus on a perceived speed and distance of self-motion differ depending on the kind of environment and the transportation method. We gave a visual stimulus moving at a different speed (0x, 4x, 8x the average walking speed) when participants walked or were carried in VR or MR space. The results revealed that the participants felt faster movement with the faster stimulus, but the size of this effect did not differ depending on the transportation methods and the environments. The participants perceived they move faster in the VR space than in the MR space and when they were carried than they walked.
