Experimental study on reception of 16QAM-OFDM signals using wideband noise and 1bit ADC

(in English) In this study, we conduct experiments on demodulating 16QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation)-OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) signals using wideband noise and 1bit ADC (Analogue-to-Digital Converter).
Although 1bit ADC cannot distinguish signal level, wideband noise, oversampling, and stochastic processing of the 1bit ADC ouput make the 16QAM-OFDM signals be demodulated with error free.
In our previous study, we applied LPF (Low Pass Filter) after frequency-conversion to generate baseband signals to remove the harmonic components of the baseband signals.
In this study, by removing the LPF or bandlimiting loosely, we confirm that error free transmission is possible for 500 byte of 16QAM-OFDM signals with appropriate level of wideband noise.
When the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter was varied, a lower error rate was achieved with a wider noise bandwidth.
The wider the noise bandwidth, the wider the signal-to-noise power density ratio at which a low error rate can be achieved.
