Performance Evaluations of ICN Service Mesh using NDN Function Chaining

(in English) Currently, a distributed Internet, Web3, gets much attention in the ICT area. Based on this fact, this paper proposes an efficient In-network processing method based on an information-centric approach. Specifically, the paper designs and implements an information-centric service mesh using Named Data Networking (NDN) and Service Function Chaining (SFC). The information-centric service mesh offers a decoupling of communication and data processing capabilities. This decoupling contributes to having the flexibility of application development. For the performance evaluations of the proposed information-centric service mesh, we implement the image processing application using the proposed method and validate the proposal's effectiveness in the natural NDN network environment deployed in our laboratory.
