Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Cellular distributed multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO) is a cellular system in which a wide communication service area is divided into multiple base station cells based on the location information of densely deployed distributed antennas, multiple user clusters are formed in each cell based on the location information of users, and then cluster-wise distributed MU-MIMO is performed in parallel using the same radio resources. The cellular distributed MU-MIMO system performs multiuser spatial multiplex with low computational complexity with the help of the parallel cluster-wise distributed MU-MIMO while ensuring the system scalability by dividing the wide communication service area into multiple cells. Therefore, it is expected to be able to construct a practical ultra-dense radio access network (RAN). However, it requires an interference countermeasure to mitigate the intra-cell interference and the inter-cell interference. Recently, we have proposed a decentralized integrated interference coordination (IC) framework that effectively mitigates both the intra-cell interference and the inter-cell interference. The intra-cell IC in this framework employs cluster layering, which separates neighboring clusters into different layers based on the interference offset distance and gives the communication opportunity to each layer in turn, and is called an interference avoidance intra-cell IC. More recently, we have proposed an interference suppression intra-cell IC, in which the inter-cluster interference suppression capability is incorporated into the minimum mean square error (MMSE) pre/post-coding. In this paper, we evaluate the uplink user capacities achievable by both the interference avoidance and the interference suppression intra-cell ICs and compare the two intra-cell ICs in terms of the uplink user capacity and the computational complexity.
