Recently, as the importance of remote communication tools has increased due to the new corona pandemic, attempts have been made to realize high-presence remote communication by transmitting 360-degree 3D images and projecting them using HMDs, but they have not yet become widespread. Among the factors hindering the prevalence of such technologies, we focus on the issue of the lack of wireless communication methods that can stably transmit huge amounts of data in real-time, and examine the use of multiple RATs (RAT: Radio Access Technology). It is thought of as reasonable that the data is distributed in such a way that stable and high real-time experience is ensured through the high-capacity communications of Local 5G, while Wi-Fi, which is already widely used, is utilized to achieve the expansion of high real-time experience on a best-effort basis. In order to efficiently use these RATs together, this study aims to quantitatively evaluate and understand the performance of Wi-Fi during inter-access point interference. Measurements show that the combined use of Wi-Fi 6 and Local 5G can double the throughput compared to using only one of them and that the jitter of Wi-Fi 6 (5 GHz band) increases 50~100 times or 2~4 times that of Local 5G (4.7 GHz band) when it interferes. Therefore, it is confirmed that it is reasonable to use the communication method described above to expand the sense of high presence when conducting high-presence remote communication. |
