Sound Quality Improvement of Source Separation Signal by Binary Mask

(in English) A two-microphone source separation method using multiple complex weighted sum circuits (WSCs) has been proposed. However, it is difficult to completely suppress noise due to the substantial loss of nulls. Therefore, an adaptive filtering method has been proposed to remove residual noise in the separated signals by applying adaptive filtering at the latter stage of the WSC. In this study, we focus on the sparsity of speech energy in the "time-frequency" domain and apply a binary mask (BM) after WSC to improve sound quality. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through real-world experiments.
