Highly Accurate Terminal Location Estimation Method by Template Matching Using Receiving Power Transition Information in the VHF-Band

(in English) A method for estimating the location of a mobile terminal equipped with ARIB STD-T103/119-based VHF-band public broadband system has been proposed by modeling the relationship between channel impulse response (CIR) and location cluster using machine learning. However, the resolution of this method is limited to a position cluster of approximately 500m square, and improving the estimation resolution has been a challenge. In this report, we propose a method to improve the accuracy of location estimation by performing template matching using the received power transition information (RPTI) of the target terminal after estimating location clusters based on previous research. The proposed method is evaluated using the VHF-band experimental data in the urban area of Kyoto city.
