Cooperative Load Balancing of Neighboring Edge Clouds with LISP

(in English) To prevent quality of service degradation when edge offloading services on resource-limited edge clouds are heavily loaded, a cooperative load balancing method that temporarily distributes the load to multiple edge clouds in close geographic proximity is expected to be realized. In this study, we propose a cooperative load balancing method for nearby edge clouds that achieves rapid load balancing by switching the forwarding destination of requests from terminals according to the load status of the edge clouds on the network side, and a Kubernetes-based edge cloud infrastructure and LISP-based edge cloud-to-edge cloud Experimental results show that the median response time is reduced to 20% by using the proposed method compared to the case without load balancing to neighboring edge clouds.
