Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Cross-domain data fusion in the edge cloud is becoming a key driver to growth of the numerous and diverse applications in IoT era. Since network and computational resources are limited in the edge cloud, we propose the concept of separating the STC generation process into multiple processes and processing them inline at the data processing (DP) server, effectively utilizing both network and computational resources. However, since the amount of network and computational resources required for STC generation varies for each flow, efficiency and fairness may be reduced depending on resource allocation. In our previous study, we proposed a resource allocation method based on Integrated resources that treat both network and computation resources. However, explosive increases in computational complexity and reduced search accuracy are problematic. In this study, we proposed a method that achieves both resource allocation with a reduced number of searches and optimal DP server selection by adaptively grouping arrival flows. Numerical results show that the proposed method can improve the efficiency (resource usage) by about 20% to 98% and the fairness (standard deviation of resource usage) by about 3% to 12%, indicating that the proposed method can contribute to efficient and fair communication and computing resource allocation in the edge.
