Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Heat flux sensors are useful tools that can detect the direction and amount of heat flow passing through the sensor. Since heat flux sensors vary in sensitivity depending on their material and construction, it is necessary to determine a sensitivity coefficient that relates the heat flow density to the output voltage of the sensor before using it. The sensitivity is determined using the garded hot plate method, a type of steady-state heat flow method, which is large apparatus and requires a long time for measurement. Recently, new heat flex sensors have been developed, and there is a need for a technique to evaluate small sensors in the prototype stage in a short time. In this study, we developed a compact heat flux sensor evaluation apparatus that can be used in combination with an electromagnet. A result of heat flux sensor evaluation using this apparatus are reported.
