Pairing-based cryptography is more secure than RSA with a shorter key length, but it is computationally expensive and more efficient to use dedicated hardware for the operation. So, it is important for evaluating resistance to side-channel attack.
In this paper, we obtain a toggle-counting-based power waveform by logic simulation for a multiplier used in pairing operations and attempt to recover one of the input values, which is secret information, by CPA. |
