Analysis of surface topography before and after contact for silver electrical contacts

(in English) In this study, to investigate the deformation state of contact surfaces of silver contacts, the shape of the contact surfaces before and after contact at a contact load of 5 N was observed and analyzed. As a result, a circular contact mark was observed on the contact surfaces, with a diameter of approximately 130 µm. The plastic deformation of projections on the flat contact surface near the center of it were about 0.214 µm. The measured contact area was 1.33×〖10〗^(-8) m^2. Assuming that all true contact spots were plastically deformed, the calculated value of contact area was 1.42×〖10〗^(-8) m^2.
