[Short Paper] Proposal a robust respiratory gating method for rodent micro-CT imaging

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Micro-CT has recently been applied to in-vivo small animal imaging in preclinical studies such as drug discovery research. However, respiratory motion for living small animals causes motion artifacts (blurring) on reconstructed images. Respiratory gating is the method that collect the subset of intensity data for each respiratory phase. This system is less effective in shallow and abnormal breathing cases. In this study, we proposed a robust respiratory gating method that is applicable to various respiratory cycles and abnormal breathing cases and verified the effects of proposed method. The proposed method could collect the subset of projection data more stable and acquire CT images with less blurring than the previous method.
