The skin flap’s transplantation replaces a defected skin with healthy skin and subcutaneous tissue with blood supply. In case that blood flow is not established after the surgical operation, skin flap necrosis is caused by vascular occlusion. This study aimed to clarify the relationship between skin flap necrosis and hemodynamics in a rat model by image analysis. We constructed an automatic imaging system that enables us to observe the whole area of the skin flap. In addition, we evaluated a change in the color of the microcirculation in skip flap dermis. The experiment results showed that the color changed darker on the ligature side over time. |
