Prediction of the Future Location of a Vehicle captured from the Dashboard Camera using Instance Segmentation

(in English) In recent years, the development of automated driving has been active in the automated driving industry, and Level 3 and Level 4 automated driving is being developed all over the world. However, there are still various issues to be solved to enable automated driving on public roads, and among them, we deal with location prediction research of surrounding vehicles using dashboard cameras. The Future Object Localization (FOL) model, which is a conventional vehicle location prediction model, has a problem in that the predicted location is shifted for intersecting objects. In this paper, we propose a new model using instance segmentation to solve this problem. We also report the results of a comparison with conventional methods.
