A study on the detection of dental phobia using Digital Phenotyping

(in English) Dental phobia is considered a global public health problem because it causes avoidance of dental visits, and avoidance behavior leads to deterioration of the oral environment and oral-related quality of life. However, although many studies on dental phobia have been conducted around the world, research on diagnosis and treatment methods has lagged behind in Japan. The ultimate goal of this study is to develop a method to diagnose the severity of dental phobia objectively and quantitatively at an early stage by analyzing digital phenotyping data. A new interview system using tablets was developed to collect data without patient and physician subjectivity as much as possible.
