Our previous study developed a rotary LED transmitter to improve the data rate of image sensor communication. This transmitter is a device that rotates LEDs while blinking them to send data. The receiver camera can capture those multiple LED lights as afterimages, thereby improving the communication speed of image sensor communication. Based on this technology, we are developing a new transmitter called a "propeller-type rotary LED transmitter." One characteristic of a new transmitter is that the amount of LED movement per degree of rotation varies depending on the position of the LED from the center of rotation. In a previous study, we found through simulation that the LEDs closer to the center of rotation are more likely to interfere with each other in the afterimage light of adjacent LEDs due to rotation. However, communication experiments using actual equipment are necessary to evaluate the communication performance of the proposed system. In this paper, we evaluate how the demodulation performance is affected by the position of the LEDs on the propeller-type rotary LED transmitter through experiments on an actual device. |
