A Technique for Detecting Missing Statements in Requirement Specifications Using Data Dependencies
Shinnosuke Hirooka (Nanzan univ.), Motoshi Saeki (Nanzan Univ.) SS2022-47
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Requirements specifications are often written in natural language and often defects such as ambiguous, contradictory, or missing requirements.
Requirements specifications having these defects can lead to lower productivity and to increasing cost consumption because reworking the development project.
In this study, we focus on missing requirements specifications and propose a technique detecting missing statements automatically by 1) classifying input and output data in functional requirements based on the verbs used, 2) extracting data with no description of their generation.
We implemented a prototype system of an automated tool for our proposed technique, and conducted evaluation experiments using three different requirement specifications to evaluate it.
