Study on the relationship between features of carotid artery blood flow velocity waveforms and arteriosclerosis using autoencoder

(in English) Previous research has revealed that differences in blood flow velocity waveforms appear due to exercise effects and aging, but the relationship between arteriosclerosis and blood flow velocity waveforms (BFVW) has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we used an autoencoder to compare the BFVW of the common carotid artery in arteriosclerosis patients and healthy subjects for the purpose of evaluating the progression of arteriosclerosis. This result suggests that the feature values obtained by the autoencoder may serve as indicators for evaluating the progression of arteriosclerosis.
