A proposal of an attribute protection scheme in self-sovereign identity systems with shared terminals

(in English) The concept of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI), which states that users' identity information should be controlled by themselves, has attracted attention in recent years. For certificates in SSI, it is required that a holder can present necessary parts of them to a necessary verifier in case of necessity. To realize SSI systems available to people who do not have a digital device such as a smartphone, we treat a SSI system in which certificates are stored in an online repository, and presentation is processed with a shared terminal installed at places such as stores. In such a system, based on the SSI concept, attributes contained in the certificate should be hidden from both of the repository and the terminal for presentation. We propose an attribute hiding scheme, which hide the attributes from both of the two entities under the assumption that each entity is semi-honest and there is no collusion by multiple entities. Furthermore, by applying the proposed scheme to an Anonymous Credential System (ACS) by Sanders, we propose an attribute hiding ACS, which can present necessary attributes selectively to verifiers with anonymity and hide the attributes from both of the repository and the terminal for presentation.
