Effect of multisensory integration of event-related potentials

(in English) Integration of sensory information from different modalities, such as visual and auditory, is considered an important aspect of perception. In this study, the effects on event-related potentials induced by visual, auditory and semantic relationship between audiovisual stimuli in the RSVP task were investigated. In the result, audiovisual stimuli with semantic congruence elicited shorter P300 latency than do visual, auditory and semantic irrelevant stimuli. This suggests that multisensory integration may facilitate recognition of the target stimulus.
