Research on development of keyboard application for iOS/iPadOS with Kana-Kanji conversion function for reasonable accommodation

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page) 
(in English) Article 2 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities states the need for reasonable accommodation. One possible reasonable accommodation for writing is the use of a computer for character inputting. However, existing keyboards have high-performance Kanji conversion and predictive conversion functions. Thus, their use is not permitted as a reasonable accommodation. We have developed a keyboard application with minimum necessary Kana-Kanji conversion functions for iOS/iPadOS, because iPads are widely used in the field of special needs. We also have evaluated the application from experimental use.
