Design of 28 GHz Band 360° Low-Loss Phase Shifter

(in English) This paper presents a design method for a 28 GHz low-loss phase shifter with a phase shift range over 360°. The design is based on a structure that utilizes the change in the overall dielectric constant of the transmission line resulting from the variation in spacing of the metal plates on the line. This results in a phase shifter with low loss and high linearity. The simulation results of this novel phase shifter show a bandwidth of about 2 GHz, a transmission loss of 2 dB or less, and a phase shift range of 360 degrees. The actual sample product has a phase shift range of about 300°, and a transmission loss of 2.7 to 4.2 dB was measured.
