Basic Research on Realization of Thin Edgewise-type Coil for Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer

(in English) Dynamic power supply is attracting attention as a technology that could solve the weight problem of electric vehicle batteries. Litz wire coils, which are currently used for in-transit power supply, must be buried, but they are disadvantageous in terms of maintenance and deterioration due to metaphysical changes. Edgewise-type coils are thinner than litz wire coils and can be installed on asphalt surfaces. On the other hand, Edgewise-type coils have lower performance than litz wire coils, and this was investigated through analysis and measurement of Edgewise-type coils. In the analysis, Edgewise-type coils of 1700×600 and 1200×600 were compared and analyzed for each parameter, and the tendency and the influence from asphalt were analyzed and optimized based on them. In the actual measurement, a comparison was made for each number of turns of Edgewise-type coils. The maximum Q-value was 102. It is thought that optimization through the aforementioned analysis and improvement of the size will bring the coil close enough to the target litz wire coil.
