A Study of Force-Display Light Stick Device for Emotional Enhancement in Online Music Concerts

(in English) Although the demand for online music concerts has increased in recent years, it is difficult in the current online music concerts for the audience to be as excited as at a live concert at a local venue. In this study, we focus on the influence of entrainment to the rhythm of music on emotion, and propose a light stick-type device that presents a force sensation in accordance with the timing of waving a light stick in order to enhance emotion in online music concerts. We present a design guideline for the device and discuss a method to realize the presentation of force sensation while maintaining a sense of agency. The results of the preliminary experiments suggest that the force-display light stick device enhances emotion, although the sense of agency is reduced.
