Exploration of hardware Trojan detection through power supply current simulation

(in English) The recent development of information and communication technology has increased the demand for integrated circuit (IC) chips needed to control the electronic devices used therein. IC chip manufacturers have succeeded in reducing monetary costs and time to market through the horizontal division of labor. However, this global division of labor has led to an increased risk of inserting hardware trogons, which are very difficult to remove from IC chips after manufacturing, making it important to detect them at the design stage. SPICE simulation can be used as a detection technique at the design stage, but the simulation time increases exponentially as the circuit size increases. In addition, hardware Trojans can be implemented with fewer elements, so more accurate simulation is needed. Therefore, this paper examines a power supply current simulation that can be applied to hardware trojan detection.
