Planar circularly polarized antenna with meta-surface radiation elements truncated at an angle to the array direction

(in English) This paper proposes a planar CP antenna with meta-surface radiation elements truncated at an angle to the array direction for wideband, low-profile, and wide azimuth range performance. Especially, the effects of the truncating method for the meta-surface radiation elements on the antenna performance are discussed. The analysis of dispersion diagram and observing the magnetic current distributions verify the enhancement of bandwidth by truncating at an angle. In addition to this, the proposed antenna has stable gain characteristics of RHCP in the frequency band ranging from 8.0 GHz to 9.9 GHz with a good impedance matching and low-cross polarization in a wide azimuth range.
