The state of charge estimation for iron phosphate cathode lithium-ion battery

(in English) Lithium-ion batteries were consisted of lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) as a cathode originally and became widespread. In recent years, introductions of lithium-ion batteries using iron phosphate cathode (LFP) are increasing. In an operation of lithium-ion batteries, it is important to estimate values of state of charge (SOC) sequentially. On the other hand, LFP batteries have flat open-circuit voltage curves, so it would be more difficult to estimate SOC values than LCO. In this study, we show the surveys of SOC estimation methods of LFP batteries and discuss the future capabilities and problems.
