Study on Estimation Method of Sensory Value Obtained from Touching Movement Using Tactile Sensing Technology

(in English) When developing a new material, it is desired that the sensory value expressed by the stimuli that arise from touching the material will be as intended by the developer.
However, the evaluation of sensory value is currently done through trial and error by experts in material development, which necessarily leads to high development costs.
We aim to realize quantitative evaluation of emotional value by combining sensing technology using tactile sensors and machine learning.
In this study, we investigated the relationship between the results of sensory evaluation of the tactile sensation of tissue paper and the signals obtained from the MEMS tactile sensor.
The results suggest that there is a relationship between the amount of frictional force applied to the fingertip during the touch operation and the feeling of moistness.
