Development of information inout interface using eye movement and pupillary light reflex

(in English) In this study, we aimed to develop input systems with the pupillary light reflex and pursuit eye movements. In Experiment 1, we measured and decided the latency of pupil response to moving flicker-target for the later experiment. In Experiment 2, we measured the eyes of subjects gazing at one target in 12 objects with different luminance frequencies or directions of motion, estimating which stimulus they were gazing at based on both the change in pupil diameter and eye movement. The accuracy of the estimation was 47.3% on average among 10 subjects. Compared with other information input methods that use biological response data, such as electroencephalography, this method has the advantages of being less burdensome for the subject and not requiring calibration and thus has the potential for a wide range of applications.
