This study aims to develop an online rehabilitation exercise service based on a person-centered principle valuing the individual. We designed an initial version of the service and conducted preliminary experiments for three months in order to confirm effects of intervening in a patient and to identify issues for improving a design of the service. The intervention was designed and performed by service designers, a manager and staff at nursing facility, a physical therapist, and occupational therapists. We reviewed the intervention experiment design and qualitatively analyzed the feedback from the patient through the interview. The results confirmed the necessity of providing the patient with not only functional recovery but also values in independent living, and extracted issues in participatory service design. |
