Structural optimization of the first parabolic reflector of DPLUS

(in English) A high-frequency ultrasonic transducer with focusing mechanism using two parabolic surfaces (DPLUS) is structurally optimized in terms of focal length while keeping the focus point of the first parabolic structure fixed. As a result of the finite element analysis, we found that there exists a trade-off relationship between energy loss due to longitudinal and transverse mode conversion and diffusion loss depending on the path length, and obtained the optimal structure. The obtained optimal structure is expected to have an energy density about 1.6 times higher than the current one at the focal point. Furthermore, we have shown the possibility of introducing high-intensity ultrasonic waves with an energy line density about three times higher than that of the conventional DPLUS by inserting a slit at the root of the thin rod waveguide for the optimum structure.
