Generation and Evaluation of Quasi-Zenith Satellite MICHIBIKI’s Pseudo-positioning Signals

(in English) In recent years, the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has become widespread throughout the world, providing information necessary to maintain our daily lives.
Recently, many IoT devices are equipped with functions that utilize GNSS, such as location information used in car navigation systems and smartphones. Originally, GNSS played an important role in the operation of ships and aircrafts, and is used worldwide. Recently, many IoT devices are also equipped with such functions.
However, in the case of GPS, one of the GNSS, the specifications of the radio waves that can be used by the public are open to the public, and the data is not encrypted and not authenticated. Therefore, electromagnetic security measures against intentional electromagnetic interference and deception by malicious persons are under discussion.
In this study, we generate pseudo-positioning signals for the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS), MICHIBIKI, as a part of establishing electromagnetic security technology for GNSS.
