Radar Cross-Section of Point Source Groups Envisaging Chaff Clouds Using Near-Field to Far-Field Transformation

(in English) A theoretical study for the radar cross sections (RCS) of chaff clouds is discussed using a software code that incorporates the Near-Field Far-Field Transformation (NFFFT) based on radar image. Typically, a chaff cloud often employs an elongated aluminum dipole that is half the wavelength of the resonant frequency. In this paper, we consider a conductor sphere equivalent to the reflection characteristics of a dipole as chaff and investigate the RCS change with the statistical distribution of the chaff cloud spatial density by setting a large conductor sphere as a target behind the chaff clouds, and so on.
